euro 2008 is really highly unpredictable.
so far, the 3 winners of their group are all eliminated. portugal, croatia and netherlands(!!). totally didnt expect turkey to make it through. nor did i expect netherlands to be out. the score was pathetic. they lost 1-3 to russia. and to think many people (including me) said russia would be gone for sure. who knows, spain may lose to italy tonight too. i havent seen them both play yet. so cannot really make any comments. but i know many are confident spain will win.
anyway, the newpaper also said the semis of germany against turkey is a sure win for germany. lol. i hope germany wins. they seem to be getting stronger. whee. shall definitely watch the match on wed night/thurs morning. though i have to wake up at such an ungodly hour.
speaking of which, singapore pools must be making a lot of money from euro cup. what with all the predictions failing and people buying the wrong teams. eg portugal, croatia and netherlands in the QF. who in the world would buy for turkey or russia for instance? the payouts were high, meaning theres a high chance for them to lose. if italy wins tonight, i think people will all fall off their chairs of something. anyway, it's funny how the newpaper said that the journalist heard a collective thud when germany made it through to the semifinals, as many people fell of their chairs in disbelief.
